Like other international airports, London Gatwick is a busy, sometimes hectic environment. Gatwick’s 2,600 employees, who work to provide a positive experience for thousands of travelers on a daily basis, are spread out across 2.5 square miles, working in a variety of frontline jobs and office positions. With so many differing roles, Gatwick needed a comprehensive intranet that could provide its employees with the information they need to do their jobs as well as access to important documents and the ability to collaborate with one another.
After implementing SharePoint as its intranet platform, Gatwick needed to ensure that all their users were able to get the information they required quickly and efficiently, especially for dissemination of “mission critical” material. They also wanted to understand what content was being accessed, by whom and on what device, how effective the navigation of the intranet was and if users were relying heavily on the search facility to get hold of important information.
