Managing Filters

Use the Browser filter to either include or exclude hits from a specific browser, spider, robot, WAP browser, or PALM browser from the results of a profile. You can filter any of these in or out if you know how they appear in the agent field of the log file.

Browser
Select a browser to filter on from the drop-down list or type the browser name in the text box below. Separate multiple entries with a space and put quotation marks around entries that contain spaces (for example, "MSIE 2")

Note: Because WebTrends looks for the filter text anywhere in the agent field of the log record, wildcards (* or ?) can not be used in a browser filter.

Note: Filtering for Netscape Navigator may not return accurate results because many browsers identify themselves as Netscape Navigator.

Browser Filter Examples:

This example: Filters:
Mozilla/4. Mozilla/3.1Indicates that activity that matches Netscape Navigator 4. or Netscape Navigator 3.1 is included or excluded from the report or view. It also specifies Navigator compatible browsers.
MSIE "Microsoft Internet Explorer/" Indicates that activity that matches any version of Internet Explorer is included or excluded from the report.

*Note: If you have not been granted full administrative rights in WebTrends Reporting Center, or if you are a WebTrends Reporting Service or Log Analyzer user, you may not be able to configure or use this feature. Please see your administrator if you have any questions.
