Advanced Features are definitions used to provide more detailed analyses on your web server log files. The definitions include:
Advertising Views definitions, which determine the number of visitors to your web site who view or click on particular ads.
Content Groups definitions, which enable you to analyze related pages together in one report. Use this feature to gather information about categories that can't be defined in terms of specific pages or directories.
Intranet Domains definitions, which provide a more detailed breakdown of your organization's domain name. You can define multiple domains that specify areas of your organization by country, state, city, department, or even individual workstations.
Path Analysis definitions, which help you track paths to and from specified pages.
Scenario Analysis definitions, which specify paths that you would like to monitor, such as a check-out or registration sequences.
URL Parameter Analysis definitions enable you to report on dynamically created web pages by associating a page with the parameter used to create it.
URL Search and Replace definitions, which help provide a more accurate number of hits logged. They address the discrepancies caused by shopping-cart software and plug-ins.
Note: Changes to the Advanced Feature settings only affect analysis from that point forward. If you change the Advanced Feature settings, reanalyze any profiles affected by the changes to avoid including old data in the results for the new settings.
To configure Advanced Feature definitions:
From the links at the top of the WRC AdminConsole, click Advanced Features. You see the Advanced Features dialog box.
Click the tab for the feature to be configured and specify the desired settings.
*Note: If you have not been granted full administrative rights in WebTrends Reporting Center, or if you are a WebTrends Reporting Service or Log Analyzer user, you may not be able to configure or use this feature. Please see your administrator if you have any questions.
