By Aaron Gray
If one of your New Year's Resolutions is to gain a better understanding of how to effectively measure your company's success, you need to arm yourself with the right set of KPI's, or Key Performance Indicators.

A good set of KPI's is a reflection of your business goals. In fact, it's even hard to successfully implement a solid web analytics solution without defining which KPI's you intend to track. That said, many marketers lack clarity about what KPIs are, let alone which ones they should be looking at to make informed business decisions.

Download the handy Top 5 FAQs about KPIs and get on your road to KPI success. Plus, learn the key indicators to track for Web 2.0 applications such as RIA, RSS, online video, and photo slideshows.

Headlines

Mobile Search Stakes Set High (eMarketer)
Mobile search is a battle over the newest, and possibly biggest, digital consumer interface to come into play since the Web. Revenues related to mobile search, including ad-sponsored directory assistance (free 411) and mobile Internet ads, are projected to pass $1.4 billion in 2012, as reported by The Kelsey Group.

Pew: Video Sharing Sites Go Mainstream (ClickZ)
The popularity of video sharing sites continues to grow as more of the American public spends time on YouTube and other similar destinations. A study released by Pew Internet & American Life Project finds the number of Web users who watch video online grew 45 percent between late 2006 and late 2007.

Social Media - Latest Fad or Strategic Marketing Tool? (Chief Marketer)
While not entirely mainstream, terms like blogging, RSS and wikis are increasingly being discussed in marketing blogs and ezines. For example, a Google search on "blogging" returned over 68 million hits. A search for "wikis" returned over 11 million hits. Whether it's publishing a blog, advertising on MySpace or hanging a virtual shingle on Second Life, brands are dabbling in Social Media.
