We help Customers turn the data generated by their web site, blogs, online campaigns and enterprise systems into understanding of their customers and, ultimately, business opportunity. Our people and products help Customers answer complicated business questions – rather than disguise incomplete answers in colorful charts and graphs.

Webtrends is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to lead the development of a Webtrends product. We are seeking a motivated leader with excellent people, design and development skills to create a product that exceeds customer demands and achieves market success.

Scope & Interaction:

The Senior Software Engineer is an individual contributor in the Product Development Organization. This position is an internal facing position reporting into a development manager, as a team member. Ability to effectively work within a team environment is required.

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will:

• Substantially contribute to the development of a Webtrends product across all phases of agile software development methodology
• Design, develop, and plan new products or new features for our web based applications using ASP.Net, C#, SQL, Java, JavaScript, and HTML/DHTML
• Contribute to design and development of components for the user interface, middle tier and data tier of the application
• Develop and maintain the project plan and schedule based on individual as well as project team availability
• Exercise judgment within generally defined best practices and policies in selecting methods and techniques for providing solutions
• Troubleshoot, debug, and sustain Webtrends products

Required Skills:

• Minimum 8+ years working on web based applications, with an expert knowledge of ASP.NET, SQL, C#, Java, JavaScript and HTML/DHTML
• Experience with presenting complex data in an easy to understand presentation through the use of tables and data visualizations is required
• Experience designing and building large scale products with specific expertise in backend relational database/middle layer design and implementation preferably with Microsoft SQL Server 2005 or later
• Demonstrated ability to diagnose and solve complex problems with web based applications
• Strong drive for quality along with excellent written and verbal communication skills is required
• Self motivated, able to work with little supervision
• Experience with Visual Studio Team System

Preferred Skills/Experience:

• Experience designing and delivering hosted software solutions
• Experience designing and delivering packaged software solutions
• Experience developing data access components against large data sets (1TB+)
• Experience with agile development methodology
• Experience with C++
• Experience in Microsoft SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS)
• Experience with Microsoft SQL Server 2008
• Prior experience working in web analytics is recommended, you will be expected to rapidly become a contributing member of our team

Education:
BS in Computer Science or equivalent work experience is required.

This position operates in a high rise in downtown Portland. Travel requirements will be minimal.
